I have been invited to speak at conferences, events, and celebrations. My speaking engagements discuss how we as disabled people are changemakers, the power we hold, resilience from a world not built for us, and the roles our allies and co-conspirators hold. I openly discuss my stories, barriers experienced by disabled people, and educational concepts. I do not speak about overcoming my disability or my physicality, or through an objectifying inspiration porn lens. I'm open to keynote opportunities, speaking in classrooms/assemblies, conferences, fundraisers, symposiums, etc.
Speaking Engagements I've had:
Closing Remarks - UA Disability Cultural Center's Celebration of Graduates
Story Sharing: IDEA Panel - Greater Tucson Leadership
Disabled & LGBTQIA+: Finding Identity, Finding Community - Online Panel Discussion for Cornell's LGBTQ Resource Center
What's on the Table? - Institute for Human Development at Northern Arizona University Online Panel
Overcoming Ableism: What You Don't Know As An Able Bodied Person - TEDxUCI 2015
*Note: some of the terms like diversability are outdated and perpetuate disability euphemisms. I no longer use that terminology and recognize the erasure of disability. I link this talk because it otherwise talks about my story and experiences
